Are you looking for a way to bring the strength and beauty of timber frames into your home furnishings? Take a look at this queen-size timber frame bed plan! It has an elegant, honest simplicity with its craftsman-like style. The rugged 6×6 posts have a bit of embellishment with their chamfered tops. There’s plenty of mortise and tenon joinery to show off to your friends!

    • Overall dimensions 5’-5 ½” x 7’-9”
    • Headboard 4’-3 ¾” tall; footboard 3’-3 ¾” tall
    • 1 ¼” x 1” channel for decking for headboard and footboard infill- or use the material of your choice.
    • The platform for the bed to be determined by the purchaser if the box spring is not utilized.

When you make your purchase you will receive links to download the plan set pdfs. The construction set contains 3 pages of fully dimensioned and notated drawings so you can clearly understand how to cut and assemble the bed frame. There are 9 pages in the piece drawing set. They include 2-and 3-dimensional drawings of every timber, with each cut clearly indicated and dimensioned. And we also provide you with peg and timber lists, so that you know exactly what to purchase to get started on this project.

Timber Frame HQ provides plans for construction purposes but does not oversee the construction. The plan purchaser is responsible for assuring the plan meets local codes and regulations. It is the responsibility of the plan purchaser to obtain any and all structural analysis, engineering, and specifications that may be required in the municipality in which it is to be built. The plan purchaser is to verify all lot conditions and measurements before construction. Purchaser is responsible for additional expenses incurred in order to meet local code and engineering requirements.

The customer understands that the following conditions in your specific area may require additional engineering:

  2. Seismic / earthquake
  3. Heavy snow
  4. Flood potential
  5. Soil instability
  6. Timber Frame Engineering

The customer understands that HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical will not be included in all plans.

When you purchase a set of plans, you are purchasing a limited copyright license for a design giving you the right to build that structure one time at your location. Your copyright license was granted when you paid the purchase fee. You do not have the right to build the design a second time unless you have a signed agreement with Timber Frame HQ. Please note that copyright law protects “derivative works” the same as it protects the original design. That means that making some changes doesn’t make it a new design. We do not allow modifications of our designs by others, without permission. Your copyright license does not allow another professional to represent our design work as their own.
