Check out this great 18×24 foot timber frame plan! If you want to make the structure longer or shorter than 24 feet, that can be done easily with only slight modification to the plan. All you need to do is increase the length of the plates and purlins, and increase the spacing between the posts.
There is great architectural detailing in this timber frame pavilion. The curved struts in the king post trusses, and the curved knee braces, set the tone. The heavy timbers used in the posts and trusses make for a sturdy building, suitable for many uses.
Thinking of a storage loft or crawl-in sleeping loft? The 12 in 12 pitch creates enough headroom that you could add a floor over part of the space. This 432 square foot frame could make a fantastic workshop, camping cabin or backyard guest house.
