This 14′ wide by 12′ deep timber frame resembles our popular 16′ line of frames using a common rafter system with an 8″ roof pitch. Use it as a front porch, screened porch, or workshop; either way, it will give you a fabulous place to hang out with your family and guests.
The plans contain 21 pages in a multi-sheet pdf ready for instant download. It includes piece drawings for all the parts in the frame. There are plenty of dimensions and details to help you sort out the joinery and get cutting on it fast. We have also included some blown-up isometric drawings to help you visualize the joinery better.
This 12×14 plan is simple to build and would do a great DIY project.

Plans 20′ + 20′ timber frame plan
We have a 20×24 that can easily be shrunk down to 20×20. The loft can easily be removed, you can find it at https://timberframehq.com/shop/20×24-timber-frame-plan-with-loft/ . Would that suit your needs?
We are interested in purchasing the plan for the 12×14 timber frame plan. Do you have any pictures of this completed with a roof to give me an idea what it will look like when it is completely done. Thanks
We don’t have any images right now, trying to get some taken this spring.
Intrested in ordering this plan what is the beam size the up rights. And what size beam to carry the 14 ft span than bill
Sorry for the delay, been down with a head cold…the posts are 8×8 and the beams are 8×12, depending on where you live and what species you are using you could reduce them down to 8×10’s.
I can only get 6×6’s where I am. Is it possible to do substitutions?
Looking at buying SKU5792
It is possible to convert this plan to use 6x material however, other than the posts we would have to use 6×12’s or larger for the tie beam depending on your location. Contact us to discuss a custom plan option.
Would it be possible to convert this plan to 12′ x 12′ ?
If so , how would you recommend reducing the length by 2′ ?
Could i reduce the number of rafters ? and/or maybe use 8×10 beams ?
Hope to use Eastern White Pine…
Thanks in advance for your reply.
It is possible to make the conversion. You will need to take 2 feet out of the center of the plate and adjust the rafter spacing and length. I can help you sort out the dimensions, just give us a call. You can use 8×10’s and reduce the amount of rafters by on set.
Could you tailor your 12×14 Timber Frame plan to have a 5 or 6″ pitch? Would it be an additional cost?
You bet. Contact me through info@timberframehq.com
Can you give me an idea of the timber schedule for this? Depending on what I buy, I’d like to have a ballpark on materials costs. Thanks!
See below for the timber list.
Brice,
Can I get plans converted to a 8′ x 16′?
Thanx,
.steve
Have you take a look at the plan at https://timberframehq.com/shop/8×12-timber-frame-plan/ would that work to serve as a base for your project. It can be converted to 16′ if needed.
Hi Brice,
I would like to buy this plan to build it with 6″ x 6″ Doug fir beams and reduce the building size to 12′ x 12′.
Is it possible to get a plan for a wooden floor as well.
Thank you.
Trevor Lusty
Take a look at the plan at https://timberframehq.com/shop/12×16-king-post-truss-plan/ it would be easy for you to adjust the size to 12×12. If this does not work for you drop us a line at info@timberframehq.com.
Looking to buy this plan but would like to make it a 10′ x 14′. Also I only see 6 X 6’s (rough cut cedar) in my area, Tampa, Fl area. unless I’m not looking hard enough. Would the 6 x 6’s suffice?
Take a look at the plan at https://timberframehq.com/shop/10×14-king-post-plan/ it might meet your needs. You can go down to 6x material but you would need to adjust the joinery a little. Look around for some cypress timbers they are more of a local timber and may be cheaper.
RE: 12 x 14 Timber Frame Plan…..Is this plan 12′ wide or 14′ wide. looking for 14′ wide. Thanks
We don;t currently have that plan available, we do have that size in timber frame plan but we do have it as a post and beam plan at https://timberframehq.com/shop/14×12-post-and-beam-plan/
Hi,
Does the plan show roof options? Considering tongue and groove under steel.
Thanks!
Hello William:
The plan has roof pitch options, but no details on roofing materials- that’s your choice!
