This 30x40 post and beam barn plan is a sizable structure with simplified joinery. Each level has 1200 square feet, which means 2400 enclosed square feet for you to utilize - make it your barn or barn home! You can add plenty of windows on the gable ends because of the queen post construction.
There are a few timber frame elements in this post and beam barn. The top plates are lengthened by a scarf joint. And there are shallow housings for the knee braces, although no tenons. Most connections are made with Timberlinx connectors and structural screws. This frame allows you to enjoy the strength and character of heavy timbers without having to cut intricate joinery.
- This is a full two story frame.
- Top of the lower girt is over 9 feet tall.
- Top plate is17’-3” tall
- Top of rafters stands at 26’-5 1.2”
- Stair well location determined by purchaser.
We will email you links to download the PDF plan sets as soon as you make your purchase. The piece drawing has 22 pages set showing you every timber in the frame with each cut you need to make. And it’s keyed to the production diagram so you kow where everything belongs. We also include timber and connector lists so you know exactly what you need to purchase.
