This 30x36 Heavy Timber Barn Home has all the space to make a comfortable family home! There is plenty of headroom throughout most of the second floor because of the knee walls framing it. This frame has the iconic barn shape, and that along with the 10:12 roof pitch makes a statement of strength. There are lots of opportunities for windows on the gable ends of the second floor due to the Queen post trusses.
The overall dimensions are 28’-11 ¾” x 34’-11 ¾” from outside to outside of the posts. This plan is designed to fit 6” framing and siding within a 24x36 foundation. The top of the girt is 12’-9” high, which means the ground floor ceiling is almost 12 feet high! The peak of the rafters are 28’- 10 ⅝” high. There are 1728 square feet with framing and cladding in this three bay design.
