This roomy 14×18 heavy timber pavilion is quick and easy to cut since only two bents exist. You could use this for a nice backyard workshop, an outdoor kitchen and dining pavilion, or even a petite guest suite or camping cabin. At the standard 8:12 roof pitch, the ridge height is over 14 feet, giving you a great sense of space. But you can tailor the pitch to suit your liking: we include pitch variations from 3:12 up to 12:12. The plans are easily customizable – leave the sides open for a breezy pavilion, or enclose the structure as you wish to make a cozy shelter. The two-foot roof overhangs give plenty of protection from the elements.

Hi, I am looking at this 14×18 timber pavilion. I have 2 questions, the first is I want a 14×14 pavilion with traditional joinery would this be the right one for me to start with and just minus 4 feet off the length? my second question is looking at the plans it doesn’t state how the rafters are attached, would they just use structural screws and if so it looks like possibly 2 different sizes will be needed, what do you recommend?
Yes, it would be pretty easy to make the adjustment from 18′ to 14′. If you end up needing help with that, we do offer custom design services here. And the rafters are attached with structural screws – 6mmx200mm with minimum 4″ imbedment into the beam
On the 18′ by 12′ model, I see you mention you actually include 2 different prints one stand alone and one attaching to the gable end of a house. can you offer that on this as well ?? I will be attaching to my house but wanted just a little more length off the house.
No, this plan is designed as a freestanding but you could make adjustments to attach to a house.
What are the timber specs for this 14 X 18? 8X8 /6X6/4X4 construction?
You can see the timber sizes on the specifications tab of this page
Interested in the 14′ x 18′ Heavy timber pavilion design. Need to know the height from ground to walk under beams please. Also, are the overhangs of both rafter edges and gable 24″? Making the total covered space 16′ x 20″?
It’s 7′-7 7/8″ below the tie beam and 9’9 7/8″ to the top of the 8×12 plate. The overhangs are 2′-0″ all around.
