Vermont Timberworks Snuggle by a Fire

You could really get warm and cozy in this in great room with rustic stone fireplace and Douglas fir beams. For this residence, Vermont Timber Works provided timber frames for a great room, a porch, and an indoor pool. They collaborated  with Tom Gillespie of CLA Engineers and John Higgens of Artisan Engineering on this project. Vermont Timber Works is located in North Springfield, Vermont.

There is lots of glass and access to the outdoors, yet this wonderful great room and library space is made cozy with the warmth of the massive king post truss and other wood elements.  The towering stone fireplace anchors the plush seating area – perfect for snuggling up to the fire for some good conversation.  The exposed joists overhead frame the fireplace and define a cozy place to land in this high-volume great room.  Tongue-in-groove wood paneling creates a warm glow,  and the contrasting stone work makes the fireplace a focal point.
