This 18x24 saltbox cabin plan has a lot of potential because the saltbox roofline creates plenty of ceiling height for a second floor. In this version , we floor half of the second level for a loft and keep a volume ceiling over half of the main level. You can add plenty of windows on the main floor, gable ends and the tall side of the saltbox.
- Plan measures 16’-11 ¾” x 22’-11 ¾” from outside to outside of the posts to allow for cladding with SIPs and still utilize an 18x24 foundation.
- Top of the tie beam is 9’-9 ½”high. The higher plate stands 5’-5” higher than the floor joist and the ridge beam is 4’-2” taller than that .
