Historic Form. Dramatic Curves
The 12x16 Cruck Timber Frame captures the timeless character of traditional cruck barns in a compact, highly buildable footprint. Measuring 12' x 16' from outside to outside of the posts, this design features gracefully curved cruck blades crafted from two pieces for easier cutting and layout—making the classic form more approachable to build. Similar in design to our 16×24 Cruck Timber Frame Plan, this smaller frame delivers bold architectural presence in a backyard-friendly size.
With its steep 12:12 roof pitch, the structure rises to just over 16'-7" at the top of the rafters and over 18'-8" at the top of the cruck beam, creating dramatic interior volume and visual impact.
