If you want to incorporate the beauty and strength of timber frame into your stick-built project, these 24' clear span king post truss plans might just fit the bill! You will add a lot of charm and character to any space with these king posts with through tenons. These trusses are a rafter and purlin system, and are designed to sit atop your load bearing walls.
You will have a space with great volume- the 10:12 roof pitch climbs almost 10 feet above your supporting walls. The dimensions are 24’ to the outside of the purlins; the maximum spacing between the centerline of the trusses is 12’. You can determine the depth of your space depending on how many trusses you choose to use. This is true heavy timber construction, with 8x10 timbers, 6x6 struts and 6x8 purlins.
You will receive links to download the pdf sets as soon as you buy these plans. The construction set includes 4 pages with 3D drawings, plan and elevation drawings, and an exploded 3D so you can see all of the timbers. In the piece drawing set there are 10 pages with dimensioned drawings of each timber, showing every cut you will make. Then we include timber and connector lists to make buying your materials easier.

Hi Katrina,
Just a question about this King Post truss and purlin plan. It states 24′. Is the plan for a 24′ X 24′ structure? I was planning on constructing a garage this size and it would be nice to have this as my roof system to match my bunkie timber frame build. It would be nice to keep the theme going. Thanks and cheers!
This is designed to sit atop walls that are 24′-0″ apart outside to outdside
Looking for 24’ span but 5:12 pitch. What do you offer?
We don’t have a stock design like that but could help you through our Custom Design department.
