Vermont Timberworks Snuggle by a Fire

You could really get warm and cozy in this in great room with rustic stone fireplace and Douglas fir beams. For this residence, Vermont Timber Works provided timber frames for a great room, a porch, and an indoor pool. They collaborated  with Tom Gillespie of CLA Engineers and John Higgens of Artisan Engineering on this project. Vermont Timber Works is located in North Springfield, Vermont.

Texas TImber Frames Snuggle by a Fire

There is lots of glass and access to the outdoors, yet this wonderful great room and library space is made cozy with the warmth of the massive king post truss and other wood elements.  The towering stone fireplace anchors the plush seating area – perfect for snuggling up to the fire for some good conversation. Solid eastern white pine timber framing and an open timber frame staircase winds through all four floors of this contemporary home. Mira Timber Framing Snuggle by a Fire

Dark, hewn hammer beam and king post trusses flanking the natural stone fireplace create a great ambience in this space – perfect to cozy up on a cold winter’s day.  The contrasting pegs highlight the handcrafted joinery of the timber frame space.  The exposed joists overhead frame the fireplace and define a cozy place to land in this high-volume great room.  Tongue-in-groove wood paneling creates a warm glow,  and the contrasting stone work makes the fireplace a focal point. The arched transom windows, high vaulted ceiling and dark-stained king post trusses with embellished braces create that old world character. And the massive king post trusses and exposed rafters in the timber frame structure add to the comfortable charm.
