This 18×22 Connext farm building with a lean-to is an extremely versatile plan! Use the ground level as a garage or workshop – it has overhead doors for easy storage of vehicles or equipment. The upper-level loft space would make a garage apartment or studio space, with a 9-foot height to the ridge. Use the generous lean-to porch for additional storage or a place to sit and relax.
This frame utilizes smaller 4x and 6x timbers so it’s pretty easy to move them around your shop. And the cutting job is much simpler than traditional mortise and tenon joinery since the connections are made with T-Rex connectors.
There are 396 square feet on the ground level, and the upper level has 371 square feet. You’ve got an 8 foot ceiling height on the ground level, and the 10 in 1 ceiling on the second level slopes up to over 9 feet. There are 176 feet under the covered porch roof. The ground level has a walk door and three windows for sunlight and ventilation, while the upper level gets cross ventilation from two pairs of windows in the gable ends.
The plan set includes 35 pages that are ready to be printed on 11×17 paper. The plan is instantly-downloadable after you make your purchase. The plans include dimensioned sections and elevations of each part of the frame, and dimensioned piece drawings showing every cut for the metal connectors. We also include 3-D renderings so you can visualize the finished product. And the included timber and fastener lists will make it easy to budget and purchase your lumber.
