-30’ high quality tape measure – Zero starts 10 inches from hook
-Reverse scale in red for easy tenon layout from shoulder
-“Layflat” one inch steel PVC coated tape for easy marking
-Green case to distinguish it from most other tapes
-Large erasable writing area on tape body for jotting quick measurements or notes
-From the 1ft mark and on, it measures feet and inches, in addition to just inches.

1. Typically more accurate than using the hook of the tape, which can get bent or damaged, have loose rivets, or not be correct from the factory
2. Eliminates the possibility of a mistake when using the “Burn” layout method. No longer need to remember to add the “Burned” amount to your layout dimension.
3. Reduce wasted valuable timber and time from cutting a timber too short or cutting joinery in the wrong location.
4. Flat tape much easier for transferring marking to the timber.

Typical heavy timbered New Jersey English barn great visuals with large hand hewn oak beams, canted purlin system, and large 10×17 swing beam. The longest timber is 44 feet. This structure will be proffesionally dismantled and repaired for reassembly.

Timber Frame Amish Barn – Post and Beam – 58 X 84

This barn has a ton of wood!!! This large Amish-built timber frame is a Queen Post design and hales from rural Pennsylvania circa 1800′s. The outer dimensions of the structure are 58′ x 84′ with side walls measuring 19′ tall up to an astounding 38.5 feet at the center ridge! Hand-hewn from Great American Chestnut and Western Red Cedar, the vertical members measure 8″ X 10″ and comprise a total of 5 bents. Vertical stud walls are hand-pegged with mortise and tenon joinery. This structure does include loft ladders but does NOT include rafters, floor joists, sill plates, siding or doors. AutoCAD drawings will be provided to interested parties. This antique post and beam structure is in excellent condition…why not recycle a strong, beautiful, sturdy building like this as an exciting and unique housing alternative? Log Cabin circa 1800′s – Hand Hewn Wormy Chestnut & Oak – 21 X 18

This distinctive cabin was recently harvested from Washington County, TN. The majority of the structure is the original logs, however, we did have to re-create some of the pieces to match. This is a beautiful 21′ X 18′ X 11’8″ structure that, when re-erected, can easily be finished to have 2 stories. Log Cabin – Pre-Civil War with Hand Hewn Oak Beams – 30 X 18

This historical Pre-Civil War log home was harvested from Washington County, Tennessee. Handbuilt in the 1800s, this two-story cabin is made primarily of Oak with a mix of other Appalachian hardwoods. The original 30′ X 18′ structure has large-faced hand hewn logs that range from 11″ to 15″ and includes original floor joists that are still usable. The cabin stands 16′ tall with a second story that could function as a loft area for sleeping quarters, with a kitchen & bath below or any other additional modifications you desire. These log beams have been wonderfully hand-notched, and come to you tagged and ready to re-erect on your property. Beam members measure some 6+” thick. Modifications to extra beams will be provided as necessary. AutoCAD Drawings are included. This distinctive cabin was recently harvested from Spartanburg County, SC. The family we acquired it from are descendants of the original craftsmen. I spoke with the Great-granddaughter of the original owner, and she told me that this cabin was built around 1870. The beams are primarily hemlock…Each beam has been wonderfully hand-hewn, and comes to you tagged and ready to re-erect on your property. Most of the beams are 5.5 X 7.5 and 6 X 8. This distinctive cabin was fabricated by our team using c. early 1800′s antique hand hewn beams. The main cabin is 16′ x 16′. There is a post & beam addition that measures 16′ x 9, making the overall footprint 25′ X 16′. It stands 8.6″ tall, but we could add loft area over post & beam for sleeping quarters, with kitchen & bath below, and add any modifications you desire.
